Wallace® has a complete new line of micropipettes for in vitro fertilization (IVF) procedures including Intracytoplasmic Sperm Injection (ICSI), Holding, Embryo Biopsy, Assisted Hatching (Zona Drilling and Partial Zona Dissection (PZD), and Blastomere Biospy Pipettes for pre-implantation genetic diagnosis (PGD).
What is ICSI?
In essence, the ICSI procedure involves the injection of an immobilised sperm directly into the central part (cytoplasm) of a mature egg. ICSI is performed in addition to an in vitro fertilisation (IVF) procedure, in which several eggs are recruited and extracted from the ovaries. Typically 75-80% of all eggs collected will be suitable for injection.
ICSI may also be used for patients who have had a previous failed or low fertilisation, the pregnancy rates following ICSI are as good, if not better, than those achieved using conventional IVF.
All of our ICSI micropipettes are contained in quality, easy to open packaging which allows both easy dispensing and the prevention of touching either end of the needle. Each type of micropipette is packaged in color-coded safe cases, which are designed to be environmentally friendly, for convenience.
